We've hit October and the weather has turned distinctly sketchy. As I was lashed by vertical rain on the school run the other day, I thought I would share a Colour Code Edit of some of my favourite raincoats on the high street. I've been wearing my mum's longline vintage raincoats since I was old enough to pinch them (thanks mum!). They're berry red and deep green - both perfect for my Colour Code - and they genuinely make me feel happy when I wear them, despite the minging weather.
A raincoat may feel like a distinctly lacklustre purchase and give you the bad anorak fear, but raincoats can actually be a solid style statement that enhance an outfit. No matter your height, age, shape or style, I love a long, voluminous coat. They really elevate the classic raincoat look and if you choose one from your Colour Code, boom, you've got a transeasonal staple that will make you feel fabulous year after year.
We shop by size, height, shape, style, trend, and I encourage you to put colour at the forefront of your shopping decision-making. Raincoats are not a purchase you want to waste money on, get home and never wear because it doesn't feel right. Buy it once and buy it in a colour that will make you look gorgeous. Having a big hood swathing the wrong coloured fabric around your face is a common wardrobe mistake and one that can be easily avoided by shopping from your Colour Code.
